Creating your album

Can I really create my entire album from my phone?

Absolutely! From choosing your cover to reviewing every page, the entire process can be done from your phone in just a few minutes.

How long will it take me?

Most customers create their album in under 10 minutes. Simply choose your cover, upload your photos, and let Saudade do the hard work for you.

How do I get started?

Choose your cover (or make your own), then upload your photos. Our AI designer will arrange them into a layout in seconds or build it yourself (manual option). Everything is customisable before you order.

How do I use the AI designer?

Upload your photos, select the AI option, and it arranges them into layouts automatically. Think of it as a thoughtful starting point and you have full control to adjust anything from there.

Can I customise the layout, text, and colours?

Yes — completely. Layouts, captions, quotes, background colours, cover and spine text. The design is yours to shape.

What photo quality do I need?

We recommend 300 DPI for the sharpest results. The editor will flag images below 120 DPI with a quality warning. Lower resolution photos may appear soft when printed at larger sizes.

Will my photos look the same in print as on screen?

Colours may appear slightly different in print — a natural difference between screens and paper. We print at 300 DPI using professional printers, so detail and sharpness come through beautifully.

What is the bleed area / red border in the editor?

The red edge marks the bleed area — extend any backgrounds or edge-to-edge images into it. Keep faces, text, and key details within the inner grey safe area so nothing is trimmed.

Can I save my project and come back to it?

Yes. Create an account before you start. Guest projects are only saved for 7 days. Account projects are kept for 45 days (resetting each time you save), and 400 days once an order is placed.

Can I reorder the same album?

Yes. Go to Projects in your account, find the album, select Duplicate, and proceed to checkout.

I placed my order but noticed a mistake. Can I edit it?

Orders enter production immediately, so contact us as soon as possible. If the book has already printed, a reprint fee may apply.

What sizes are available?

Saudade offers Portrait (21x29.7), Square (21x21), and Landscape (29.7x21). Layflat comes in the Landscape size.

Are the albums hardcover?

Yes. Every Saudade album features a premium hardcover finish, designed to protect your memories and last for years to come.

What is the difference between Hardcover and Layflat?

Hardcover Albums have pages that turn like a traditional book and are perfect for everyday memories, family stories, and travel adventures.

Layflat Albums open completely flat, allowing photos to spread seamlessly across two pages. Ideal for panoramic images and special moments.

What paper is used inside?

Hardcover albums: 200 gsm high-gloss paper finish, perfect binding.

Layflat albums: matte/satin paper finish, layflat binding.

How much does an album cost?

Hardcover albums: $99 for 30 pages. Each additional page is $1.49 and pages must be added in sets of 2.

Layflat albums: $129 for 24 pages. Each additional page is $1.99 and pages must be added in sets of 2.

How many pages can I have?

From 30 to 298 pages.

Privacy & Security

Are my photos private?

Absolutely. Your photos remain yours and are only used to create your album.

Who owns the photos I upload?

You do. You retain full ownership of all photos and content uploaded to Saudade.

Are my photos secure?

Yes. We take the privacy and security of your memories seriously and use secure systems to protect your content.

How long do you store my photos?

Photos uploaded without starting a project are kept for 7 days. Photos in an unordered project are stored for 45 days, and photos in a completed order are kept for 400 days (60 days for any unused images).

How do I delete my account?

To delete your account, reach out to us at hello@saudadealbums.com and we'll take care of it for you.

Shipping & Returns

How long will my order take?

Your album is produced within 5 business days before being shipped. Delivery times vary depending on your location.

Do you ship worldwide?

Yes. Wherever your memories were made, we can deliver them.

Can I track my order?

Yes. Once your album has been dispatched, you'll receive a tracking email so you can follow its journey to your door.

Can I return my album?

As each album is custom-made specifically for you, we cannot accept returns for change of mind. However, if there is a printing or production issue, please contact us and we'll do our best to make it right.

What if my album arrives damaged?

If your order arrives damaged or defective, please contact us within 14 days of delivery and include photos of the issue. We'll work with you to make it right.
